The recently released motion poster teases a heartfelt narrative filled with love, longing, and societal challenges. Anticipated as a unique addition to Nepalese cinema, Soltini promises a poignant tale that hasn’t graced the silver screen in quite some time.
The film officially announced its production with a teaser and poster in December 2024, generating buzz among fans and critics alike. The poster, designed by Royal Bhimsen of Trident Concept, hints at the themes of love and separation. Filming began on January 7, 2025, at the sacred Pathibhara Temple in Rong, Ilam. Over 31 days, the shoot will span picturesque locations across Ilam and Bhojpur, with the filmmakers aiming to blend narrative depth with the natural beauty of eastern Nepal.

(September 19, 2025), coinciding with Nepal’s Constitution Day.
At its heart, Soltini confronts critical social issues like caste-based discrimination and systemic inequality, using its romantic plot as a vehicle for deeper commentary. Through the story of Bhimsen and Dilasa, the film aims to spotlight the emotional and cultural toll inflicted by outdated societal norms. Director Subedi envisions the movie as not just entertainment, but a catalyst for meaningful discourse on equality, justice, and humanity in Nepal. With its emotional resonance, cultural relevance, and scenic backdrop, Soltini is poised to be one of the most significant Nepali releases of the year.
